The on call GP will then assess the information they have and call you back/advise how to proceed and if they feel you need to be seen they will invite you in for a same day appointment. If your problem occurs after 11, for a medical emergency the on call GP is still available. The earlier you call or complete the engage consult banner the easier it is for the GP to help you. The number to call to access this service is 0207 848 2613.
Face to face appointments are limited to 15 minutes with the doctor of your choice and you can also book a 5 minute telephone consultation. If you feel more comfortable with a chaperone (see our Services pages for more information) during an examination please advise the staff. Reception is available on the telephone and face to face Monday to Friday. Nurse and HCA appointment times vary depending on which service you require.

Dean St GUM Clinic
Routine appointments can be made on a Wednesday and Friday.
Policy for Lateness and Missed Appointments
As part of our aim to reduce patient waiting time we operate a lateness policy. If you are more than 10 minutes late for your appointment the nurses or doctors will ask you to rebook as they will be seeing their next patient. To ensure that all clinics run to time please arrive at your allocated appointment time.
What Happens If I Am Late For My Appointment?
Unfortunately if you are over 10 minutes late you would need to re arrange your appointment so that the next patient's appointment time is not affected.
The Health Centre operates a ‘failed to attend’ policy for all patients that miss their appointments. If a patient fails to attend two appointments a warning letter will be sent to the patient. If a patient misses more than three appointments within one year they will be removed from our practice list for one academic year after which they can re-register if they wish.
These are available only for patients unable to attend the Centre. Please try to come to the Centre whenever possible as the facilities here are better for examination and treatment.
Where possible a request for a visit should be made early in the day.
